The Pressure to Progress

It seems life never fails to get in the way.

What to do? Accept and move on I think, I still aim to achieve a weekly post, but life seems too short and too busy to be disappointed in missing a goal. Aim for the stars, land on the Moon.

As such, as a belated Monday post, I want to write just a few lines on what I see as ‘the pressure to progress’

In a world where the intangible is treated with equal veracity as the tangible, where do we draw the line? What is it we all aim to achieve in life — is it the same between all people? I think the simple answer is no, but some, me included, seem to fall into a world of self-judgment and comparison between others.

What Is the meaning of life? A question too big for me for sure. But when we really think down to the minute, we are simply flying through the vast nothingness on a spec of rock that is merely a blip in the history of the cosmos. Where does this pressure to progress come from? I fail to know, but I’m learning to ignore it and simply be happy on my rock, achieve what I want to achieve, and be with my people.

Thank you, see you next week! (maybe)
